Music by The Weeknd “Can’t Feel My Face”
August 26, 2015
In this video, I played the song “Can’t Feel My Face” by The Weeknd while headed to see The Weeknd in Toronto!
On August 20th, 2015 - The company Uber gave me a call about a video I did a few days prior:https://youtu.be/poKek6piqEQ They really loved it and wanted to know further details to why I created the video for an interview. I told them I just wanted to make something really fun.
See the video that started it all: https://youtube.com/poKek6piqEQ
I had no intention of sparking any viral concept. All I wanted to do was make a video that would make people smile. I don’t know what happened in their office, but a couple of days later (while I was actually ubering for the next video), they gave me a call to give me some news. They asked if I wanted to see the Weeknd in Toronto!
I burst out yelling! You could say I had tears in my eyes because I had tears of joy in my eyes. I’m very fortunate and very lucky to have had this opportunity. I just can’t believe it happened. This video showcases what happened.
Oh! This all happened on August 25th 2015…
a very long - yet amazing day.
Oh! A Final Note:
During the VIP meet & greet with Abel (The Weeknd), I was told by security that I wasn’t allowed to take any sort of video selfie.
However, when I went up - Abel and his team started screaming at me in excitement! “Are you the dude who made the video?!?” “Are you the Uber Driver?!?”
Abel came out of his “photographer” zone, went up to shake my hand, and gave me a hug. It was then I asked if I could take a video selfie to talk about the video. The storage on my camera ran out right when he said the words, “genius” (which is in the video)… but this is the interaction and I will remember it till the day I die!
Me: What did you think of the video?
Him: It was f*%#ing genius!
Me: Really man? Thanks!
Him: No! Thank YOU! It’s getting good press - I really love it.
Me: Aww Thanks.
Then it was a blur as security started to escort me through as his entourage started to come up to me and give me kudos and handshakes. It was surreal. Very. Very. Very. Surreal.
I couldn’t have been there without the people in the car, my friends, the people who watched the video, Uber, the people who shared the video, and everyone who else who supported the last video.
This may be my 15 seconds of fame - but it’s 15 seconds I will never ever forget. Till next time.
